"Loved it!" We had a lovely few days here with friends. Accomodation has everything you need. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, nice open plans kitchen\ living room. Lovely walks right on your doorstep which was nice and pub within walking distance. The views from the living room doors is lovely, so quiet and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends and would definitely return again.

"Great venue for a hen weekend!" We had a great stay here for my sister's hen weekend! There are two cottages that have a door adjoining them which was great! All the rooms were very beautiful and the beds were really comfortable. The only thing is that it was about a 30-40 minute drive to the centre of Nottingham, and c. £30+ for a taxi back to the station! Hopefully most people will have cars though (and Wayne gave us car parking permits for us to use). Thanks for a wonderful stay, would definitely recommend!

"High spec, opening plan, living;dining and kitchen in a quite Peaceful country setting." Lovely hosts, Louise n Dean friendly and knowledgeable about surrounding area. GREAT place for families with small children. Peaceful, cottage, clean with shower now bath, great open plan living. Very comfortable beds, highly recommend this place.

"Beautiful home and fantastic stay!" Visited with a group of 14 for a weekend away. The house was much bigger than we expected and beautifully decorated. The facilities are great - we made good use of the hot tub and snooker table! Abi was lovely and welcoming and popped round after we'd arrived to check everything was ok. Other than that we had the place to ourselves and enjoyed a fantastic lazy weekend. We would definitely recommend and fully intend to go back when we fancy another break.

"Cozy cottage with secure garden for dogs" We had a lovely but brief stay in this cosy, historic cottage which is well situated for trips to Sherwood and Nottingham (for two Robin Hood fans) and other parks and places around about. We had two children and two dogs with us and so the wifi and garden were very welcome. We had been really grateful to the owner for her help with the booking and especially for allowing us to bring both dogs. As it is a small, historic cottage, it has some low doorways and small staircase and so being taller and clumsy did mean I hit my head several times! But we have already recommended this cottage to friends.

"Lovely, quiet retreat" We've just returned from a lovely 4 nights away. We used the bungalow as a base for a range of National Trust days out. The bungalow was very clean, had all of the amenities you'd want (and more). My only slight criticism was that the toilet kept refilling, throughout the night, which woke us a couple of times on the first night, but once we were used to it, we didn't notice it! It was a lovely quiet place and a perfect location. We would recommend!

"Perfect place to stay and explore" Walter's cottage was a perfect place to stay and explore an area so often overlooked. Ideal for Leicester, Derby, Southwell and various NT houses plus local walks and loads of good pubs, including the Plough in Wysall. The cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed and Debbi made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Really comfy bed, light and airy throughout and kitchen area with all mod-cons. Lovely to have real coffee provided as well as tea, sugar and milk. Thank you for a great holiday!

"Super friendly owner's, lovely rural setting in the Sherwood county. many many thanks." A smashing quaint little village location. perfect homely feel, I settled in immediately. Kitchen a little small although I prepared and cooked my meals with just the same ease as I do at home. Special thanks to Sarah & Paul for being so accommodating of my two wheeled friends(my road bikes). One a dry weather super light and the other a wet weather bike. The area has some fantistic views of the Nottinghamshire countryside. Cyclists both on and off road will love this place. Birdwatchers and naturalist as well. It just leaves me with one more comment to make. Please do not plan your weekend when I intend to stay. If you do you will have a enemy for life. "Perfect Place to Relax" A busy weekend in Newark upon Trent was made all the more enjoyable on our return to Woodlands every evening. Woodlands is a beautiful, warm and inviting place to stay with everything you need to make you feel at home; including underfloor heating and fantastically comfortable beds. We especially enjoyed our peaceful early morning walks along the banks of the river Trent (15 mins walk from the house). Thank you Louise and Dean for your hospitality, we are all looking forward to a return visit.

"Excellent" Beautiful house. gorgeous village, amazing country. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. Everything was provided, the cottage itself was more than we could have ever expected and the owners were more than helpful without ever being intrusive. We can honestly say that, throughout our entire European trip, this was the most relaxing and enjoyable time that we had. We would recommend this cottage (and the owners) to anyone who wishes to experience the real England
